Fall 2017 Quarterly Meeting

Friends, mark your calendars and make a reservation at Boulder Hot Springs for Nov 4 and 5.  Jack Rowen, currently from Spokane, will be presenting.  Below is information for you to plan your weekend.  Please remember you must make your own accommodation reservations or arrangements (See below).  If you have any questions please call Nora at 4O6.58O.18O1.

Theme: Exploring our response to violence

From early in our history, Quakers have taken a clear stand for peace and our Peace Testimony is well known and widely accepted.  In part, North Pacific Yearly Meeting's Faith and Practice states:
As we work for peace in the world, we search out the seeds of war in ourselves and in our way of life.  We refuse to join in actions, which lead to destruction and death.  We seek ways to cooperate to save life and strengthen the bonds of unity among all people.
As Friends we are challenged to not only oppose the violence we witness in the world today but to also build avenues of hope and empowerment.  Jack Rowan, currently from Spokane (and Missoula), will lead us in an exploration of alternatives to violence and the leadings of our faith.

After Jack's presentation we will explore our responses more deeply in small worship sharing groups.

There are several options for staying overnight at the Boulder Hot Springs Inn. The cost for one person ranges from $18 - $120 (depending on what you choose!)

Bed and Breakfast Rooms (room and breakfast included in the cost)
B&B rooms sleep anywhere from 2 to 4 people depending on the room you choose. The more expensive rooms are the ones that sleep 4 people (if 2 people are willing to share a bed!). At $150/night (including an estimate of taxes) a room with 4 people would cost each person approximately $38.50. If no one wants to share a bed than 3 people would each pay approximately $50.

Guest Room (these rooms do not include breakfast in the cost)
$65.00 - 70.00 (Single) + tax
$85.00 - 90.00 (Double) + tax

Tent or RV
The hot springs is willing to let folks who want to save money (and rough it a bit) camp on the hill behind the building or park their RV just west of the hotel (no hook-ups). The cost is $18 and includes the use of the pools, showers and steam room.

Daily rate for Swimming and soaking (if you are staying for the night this is included in your room fee.) $7

Saturday lunch is being provided by MGOF and Saturday dinner is a potluck. The cost of the use of the common spaces is covered by MGOF.

So your only cost is the room and breakfast if you choose to have the (very good) breakfast provided by the hotel.
